Security Operations Manager (Command & Information Technology)

About the role

The incumbent will lead the Security Operations Center (SOC) and integrated security technologies to protect KCC's copper and cobalt assets. Reporting to the General Manager Asset Protection, the role ensures optimal performance of security infrastructure and aligns risk mitigation with operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own SOC workflows, TARP compliance, incident escalation, response tracking and closure with evidence.
• Drive performance of CCTV, radio, access control and alarm systems, managing fault registers and maintenance priorities.
• Convert incident trends and hotspot analysis into field priorities and oversee monthly KPI reporting.
• Lead loss‑prevention reviews, perimeter security, surveillance (including drones) and access control across mine sites.
• Coordinate incident response, investigations and liaison with legal, local authorities and HSE teams.
• Manage the lifecycle of security assets, ensuring procurement, maintenance, calibration and retirement.
• Integrate physical and digital security systems into a unified platform (VMS, ACS, intrusion detection, cybersecurity).
• Develop and deliver training on loss‑prevention, anti‑theft protocols and security awareness.

Required profile

• BSc in Security Management, Risk Management, Engineering, HSE, Business Administration, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading asset protection and integrated security programs.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Project Manager (CPCM) are preferred.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of surveillance systems, CCTV, radio communications, access control and intrusion detection.
• Experience with security management platforms (VMS, ACS) and integration with IT infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ISO 55000 (asset), ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 45001 (safety) standards.
• Ability to perform risk analysis, vulnerability assessments and loss‑prevention strategy development.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools for KPI tracking and incident trend analysis.
