Security Specialist (P-3) – Temporary Assignment, 6 months

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Security Specialist (P-3) for a six‑month temporary appointment in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role supports the Hub Coordinator and reports secondarily to the Security Adviser, providing security risk analysis, advice, and mitigation measures in line with United Nations and UNICEF security management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security risk management and planning for the country or assigned area.
• Deliver security services to protect personnel, assets, operations and programmes.
• Analyse programmatic security information and produce actionable insights.
• Build and maintain security networks and partnerships with local and international stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives in security.

Required profile

• Experience in security risk analysis and mitigation within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with United Nations and UNICEF Security Management Systems.
• Ability to work in insecure environments and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills in English.
