Senior Finance and Admin Associate

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Finance and Admin Associate to support its finance unit. Reporting to the Senior Resource Management Officer and the Resources Manager Officer, the incumbent will help plan, lead, organize and coordinate finance and administrative activities across the office.
Key responsibilities
- Provide procedural guidance, supervision, coaching and on‑the‑job training to finance and administrative support staff, ensuring consistent application of IOM rules, procedures and internal controls.
- Manage and monitor financial resources, including assets, reserves, funds, supplies and inventory, ensuring efficient use and compliance with IOM financial regulations and donor requirements.
- Support the Project Manager with specialized financial and administrative technical information for informed decision‑making and operational planning.
- Assist in the preparation, monitoring and revision of project and office budgets covering staff costs, rent, utilities, equipment, supplies, services and contracts.
- Monitor compliance with IOM financial policies, identify potential risks and flag irregularities to the supervisor.
- Consolidate financial data into accurate statements and reports, ensuring expenditures stay within authorized budget lines.
- Provide regular and ad‑hoc financial analyses to support planning, forecasting and strategic decisions.
- Ensure disbursements and payments are executed based on proper authorizations and supported by complete, legitimate documentation.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in finance, accounting or administration, preferably within an international or multilateral organization.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and deliver training on financial procedures.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, donor requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to produce accurate financial reports and analyses.
- Proven track record of managing budgets, assets and inventory efficiently.
