Senior Geologist

About the role

The Senior Geologist will lead and supervise exploration programmes, ensuring high‑quality technical execution from drilling to data interpretation. This role drives rapid advancement of targets, integrates all datasets, and supports strategic decision‑making for mineral development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise exploration activities such as drilling, geological mapping and soil sampling.
• Analyse data, interpret results and optimise drilling programmes, including real‑time updates of 3D deposit models.
• Plan and implement systematic technical programmes to achieve decision points quickly.
• Ensure holistic integration of all datasets and adherence to industry best practices.
• Foster creativity and innovation throughout the exploration cycle.
• Supervise, mentor and coach the technical team to raise capability standards.
• Conduct property and project evaluations for business development opportunities.
• Coordinate compilation of exploration results and report progress to senior management.
• Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly and annual technical reports and presentations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of exploration experience, including at least 5 years in base‑metal projects.
• Strong knowledge of sediment‑hosted copper systems in the Congolese (Katanga) Copperbelt.
• Experience across the full exploration lifecycle from concept to resource estimation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology; MSc or PhD highly valued.
• Driver’s licence and fluency in French and English (Mandarin a plus).
