Senior Hydrogeologist

About the role

Knight Piésold seeks an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join its team in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role combines fieldwork, technical analysis, numerical modelling, client interaction and project management across multidisciplinary projects in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Lead hydrogeological investigations, including field programmes, drilling, aquifer testing and groundwater monitoring.
• Develop and review conceptual and numerical groundwater models (e.g., MODFLOW, FeFlow, MineDW) and provide risk mitigation solutions.
• Manage project scope, budgets, timelines and coordinate contractors and technical deliverables.
• Prepare, review and sign off technical reports and client deliverables ensuring high quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences or related field; Honours or Master’s degree advantageous.
• Minimum five years of experience in hydrogeology, groundwater consulting or mining hydrogeology.
• Professional registration with a relevant professional body.
• Proven experience managing field investigations, including geophysical surveys, borehole drilling, aquifer testing and sampling.

Required skills

• Numerical groundwater flow and contaminant migration modelling (MODFLOW, FeFlow, MineDW).
• Groundwater data analysis, aquifer testing and geochemical sampling.
• Preparation of hydrogeological reports and specialist studies.
