Senior National Influencing & Active Citizenship Advisor

About the role

Oxfam is seeking a senior professional to lead influencing, advocacy and active citizenship programmes at a national level across selected African countries. The role will shape strategy, generate evidence and promote feminist leadership and gender justice within Oxfam’s country programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evaluate influencing, campaigning and advocacy initiatives in multiple African contexts.
• Provide contextual analysis on how change happens and embed findings into programme design.
• Facilitate training sessions (online and face‑to‑face) for staff and partners on advocacy techniques.
• Collaborate with country teams to ensure gender‑justice and feminist perspectives are central to all activities.
• Produce knowledge products, evidence briefs and learning materials for internal and external audiences.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to Oxfam’s mission and feminist principles.
• High self‑awareness, ability to adapt to complex and ambiguous environments.
• Strong empowerment mindset, capable of enabling and supporting colleagues.
• Experience working across more than one Global South country.
