Superintendent I – Drilling Operations

About the role

The Superintendent I, Drilling will lead and coordinate exploration, infill and resource definition drilling across the Kamoa‑Kakula deposits. This role ensures drilling activities are safe, efficient and meet technical, operational and quality standards while supporting geological modelling, resource development and mine planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drilling programs for exploration and resource definition, ensuring alignment with mine planning objectives.
• Manage drilling contractors, field crews, logistics and equipment compliance.
• Monitor drill execution, core recovery, QA/QC and operational reporting.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with geology, technical services and operational teams to optimise drilling performance.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
• Drilling, mining or technical vocational training certificate.
• Valid driver’s licence; licences to operate drill rigs.
• Proficiency in business English (mandatory); French and Swahili advantageous.
• First‑aid and mine‑safety certifications preferred.

• Diamond, RC and RAB drilling knowledge.
• Drill rig setup, alignment and equipment inspection.
• Core recovery and drilling QA/QC procedures.
• Drill‑hole deviation monitoring and GPS navigation.
• Drilling logistics coordination and field‑crew management.
• Contractor management and safety/HSE compliance.
• Operational reporting, problem‑solving and decision‑making.
• MS Office proficiency.
