Superintendent – Inventory Management (Demand Planning)

About the role

The Superintendent – Inventory Management (Demand Planning) reports to the Inventory Management Manager and leads demand planning and inventory forecasting for Mutanda Mining. The role ensures material availability aligns with operational, maintenance and shutdown requirements, translating plant plans into accurate inventory signals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain forecasts of moving inventory demand.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering and purchasing to capture future material needs.
• Translate shutdown plans, maintenance schedules and operational plans into inventory request signals.
• Monitor consumption trends, forecast deviations and stock‑out risks.
• Maintain inventory planning parameters such as min/max levels, order points and safety stock.
• Support replenishment planning, inventory optimisation and working‑capital improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams on forecasted demand.
• Produce reports and dashboards for senior management.

Required profile

• University degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, planning, procurement or inventory management.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing or heavy industry is highly valued.
• Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP are advantageous.
