Systems Accountant

About the role

International Alert is seeking an experienced Systems Accountant to lead the design, implementation and roll‑out of its global finance system based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You will work closely with senior finance teams, IT colleagues and country‑office finance managers to ensure a smooth transition to a more efficient, compliant financial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of Dynamics 365 Business Central across the organisation, including user access controls, segregation of duties, month‑end and year‑end processes, workflows, general ledger, budget ledger and job costing modules.
• Manage external consultants during scoping, design and implementation phases.
• Define and execute a detailed rollout plan for all country offices, coordinating training, testing and post‑implementation support.
• Design and build reporting solutions to meet programme, finance and senior‑management needs.
• Integrate project‑management and fundraising data, including migration from the existing PROMPT database.
• Oversee timesheet implementation, maintain data integrity and ensure system controls remain compliant with accounting standards.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with extensive experience in ERP implementation, preferably in complex, multi‑country environments.
• Strong analytical mindset, detail‑oriented and able to work autonomously.
• Proven ability to collaborate with finance, IT and programme teams.
