Tax and Reporting Accountant

About the role

The Tax and Reporting Accountant will lead month‑end consolidation, financial reporting and tax compliance for WSP Africa and its subsidiaries. You will act as the primary liaison for Canada on Hyperion queries and support both internal and external audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate monthly and quarterly financial information and prepare reporting packs for head office and Business Units.
• Upload actuals, forecasts and budgets into Hyperion and Prevero.
• Supervise the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reports.
• Review inter‑company transactions for tax and statutory compliance.
• Prepare tax calculations and manage filings for income tax, VAT, WHT and PAYE, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide financial input for Board and EXCO packs, DSO calculations and quarterly forecasts.
• Support merger and acquisition activities and simplify the statutory structure of WSP Africa.
• Oversee the financial and commercial reporting team and conduct ad‑hoc performance reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years post‑qualifying experience as a CA(SA) or CTA with articles.
• Advanced Excel modelling skills (evidence required).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate tax regulations.
• Excellent people‑management abilities and commercial acumen.
• Proactive, organized, adaptable and detail‑oriented.
