Technical Advisor – Ebola Response

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking a Technical Advisor to support its Ebola response in Bunia, Ituri Province. The role will contribute to a community‑centered, integrated effort aimed at stopping the outbreak and mitigating its secondary effects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) and community surveillance activities.
• Support Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) interventions in health facilities and communities.
• Ensure continuity of essential services, livelihoods, and food security through cash assistance and targeted support.
• Integrate safeguarding, protection, conflict‑sensitivity, and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles into all response activities.
• Collaborate with consortium partners to extend technical expertise across affected health zones.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian health emergencies, preferably Ebola or similar outbreaks.
• Knowledge of community‑based risk communication, IPC, WASH, and GESI approaches.
• Ability to work in a high‑risk, fast‑moving environment with frequent contact with participants.
