Temple Custodian (Level 2)

About the role

To support the Church’s religious mission, the Level 2 Custodian ensures that temples and related buildings maintain a clean, beautiful, and sacred environment. The role involves daily cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of all interior spaces while upholding the standards set by Church leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors, air vents, furniture, windows, walls, and doors.
• Sanitize furnishings and surfaces, mop and dust floors, and perform carpet, rug, upholstery, tile, and drape cleaning.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment including vacuums, polishers, buffers, large scrubbers, power washers, and extraction machines.
• Perform emergency clean‑ups such as floods, bodily fluids, and spills, and move furniture or supplies as needed.
• Restock cleaning supplies, report safety or security issues, and assist with minor repairs.

Required profile

• Must hold a current temple recommend and possess at least two years of related experience or relevant education.
• Positive attitude, ability to work in a team, and capacity to lift and position objects up to 50 lb (23 kg).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and work from ladders or scaffolds for extended periods.
• Understanding of safe handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.

Required skills

• Operation of mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, carpet cleaners, and high‑rise power washers.
• Use of commercial‑grade cleaning solvents and chemicals in compliance with safety regulations.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to chemical‑handling procedures.
