Temple Facilities Assistant II

About the role

The Temple Facilities Assistant II ensures that temple ordinances are recorded accurately and that the environment provides a positive, uplifting experience for patrons. This role supports the operation and maintenance of all physical facilities, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems in accordance with standards set by the First Presidency.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate HVAC equipment and controls for maximum efficiency.
• Service water‑treating equipment for boilers, culinary water, and cooling towers, performing pH, hardness, and conductivity tests.
• Repair and service laundry and kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, and bread mixers.
• Maintain baptismal font filtration and water purification systems, ensuring proper pH and chlorine levels.
• Maintain electrical systems, including high‑voltage three‑phase wiring, motor controls, and lighting (110 V, 277 V, 24 V).
• Clean, maintain, and repair electronic systems such as the Temple Recording System, TV terminals, printers, cabling, and power supplies.
• Service projection sound and communication systems and make necessary mechanical or electrical modifications.
• Participate in yearly facilities budgeting, time‑card submission, and FMAT project administration.

Required profile

• Completion of at least 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the same trade, plus 2 years in physical plant operations covering electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, or floor coverings.
• Shop organization and inventory‑management abilities.
• Willingness to rotate shifts and learn essential systems.
• Basic computer skills and any licenses required by law.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
