Water & Sanitation Project Manager

About the role

The Water & Sanitation Project Manager will lead the planning, implementation and supervision of WASH and related infrastructure projects in Ituri Province, D.R. Congo. Working from Bunia, the role ensures safe water and sanitation services for displaced and vulnerable populations while promoting sustainable community participation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and supervise WASH and infrastructure projects in line with proposals, budgets and timelines.
• Manage construction quality, maintenance and sustainable processes, involving local committees and labour.
• Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation visits, produce reports for field managers, donors and headquarters.
• Integrate beneficiary participation and accountability mechanisms into project design and execution.
• Provide timely and accurate activity reporting (monthly, quarterly, final).
• Support the development of new standards and contribute to country strategy and proposal writing.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing WASH or similar infrastructure projects in humanitarian settings.
• Strong background in community mobilisation and working with local staff and committees.
• Ability to travel frequently to remote field locations.
• Good understanding of national and international WASH guidelines and standards.
