M-Pesa Treasury Manager (Trust)

About the role

The M-Pesa Treasury Manager (Trust) is responsible for overseeing all trust accounts linked to M-Pesa, ensuring that electronic money movements are fully backed by bank balances and that regulatory compliance is maintained. The role safeguards trust funds, reconciles accounts, and provides accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and the Central Bank.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all M-Pesa Trust bank accounts, aligning e‑money control accounts with corresponding bank balances.
• Track CPR limits, trust funding levels and partner balances to guarantee liquidity and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and submit Trust and Central Bank (BCC) reports on time and with full accuracy.
• Maintain access and reporting oversight through the BCC reporting portal.
• Oversee trust account flows in the G2 system, ensuring correct posting and mapping of transactions.
• Apply appropriate accounting treatment in line with IFRS, OHADA and regulatory standards.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations between trust bank statements and e‑money control accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, support internal and external audits, and strengthen internal controls to prevent fraud or regulatory breaches.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in treasury, trust or financial control roles, preferably within mobile money, banking or fintech.
• Deep knowledge of M-Pesa trust structures, e‑money regulations and Central Bank (BCC) requirements.
• Proficiency with G2 systems, bank reporting structures and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong background in reconciliations, liquidity management, cash‑flow forecasting and foreign‑exchange exposure reporting.
• Experience with audits, regulatory engagements and digital treasury transformation or ERP migration is an advantage.
