Mine Technical Services Manager – Copper & Cobalt

About the role

A leading copper and cobalt producer in the DRC Copperbelt is seeking a Mine Technical Services Manager to provide technical leadership and ownership across mine planning, geology & grade control, survey, ground & water controls, and reconciliation at its Etoile operation.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical integrity of short-, medium-, and long‑term mine plans, schedules and optimisation studies.
• Maintain resource model updates, sampling protocols, assay QA/QC and grade‑control strategy.
• Develop and oversee survey control frameworks, spatial data accuracy and as‑built verification.
• Manage geotechnical and hydrogeological monitoring, risk assessments and de‑watering strategy.
• Lead tonnage and grade reconciliation, variance investigations and corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain and enforce technical standards, procedures and approval matrices.
• Deliver monthly and quarterly technical reports to senior management.
• Act as technical liaison between Mine Operations, MALOBA, Environmental & HSE, Finance and regulators.
• Lead technical reviews, lessons‑learned processes and capability‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or related discipline.
• 8–12 years’ experience in open‑pit/underground mining technical roles.
• Proven experience in mine planning, resource modelling, grade control, survey and geotechnical/hydrogeological controls.
• Strong reconciliation and data‑analysis experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.
