Project Director

About the role

The Project Director will lead Gocongo’s group‑level project development and execution cycle, from initial concept through commissioning and operational handover. Reporting to executive management, the role sits at the intersection of engineering, commercial judgement and strategic decision‑making, supporting the Group’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Conceive and assess new capital projects aligned with the Group’s expansion strategy across verticals and geographies.
• Conduct pre‑feasibility studies, define project scope, technical parameters and business case frameworks for farms, processing plants and infrastructure.
• Lead feasibility studies, technical due diligence and negotiate technical and commercial terms with EPC contractors, engineering firms and equipment suppliers.
• Develop and manage detailed project execution plans, Gantt charts and supervise construction and installation activities across multiple sites.
• Lead commissioning, performance testing and ensure smooth operational handover with complete documentation and training.
• Act as the primary interface between the Group and all project stakeholders, managing contractor performance, change orders, claims and schedule adherence.
• Monitor key performance indicators, safety metrics, budget variance and material stock accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Advanced decision‑making authority with proven experience leading large‑scale, multi‑site construction or engineering projects.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to coordinate with country operations, finance, legal and external EPC contractors.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and to specified quality and safety standards.
• Experience structuring and negotiating project, construction and supply contracts.
• Track record of translating feasibility studies into Board‑approved capital projects.
