Senior Programs Manager – Bunia, DRC

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Senior Programs Manager to lead and coordinate its relief and recovery initiatives in Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role blends strategic planning, stakeholder liaison, and team leadership while keeping the organization’s Christian mission at its core.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Country Director (CD) and Deputy Country Director (DCD) with strategic planning and program oversight.
• Liaise with governmental authorities, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, donors, and Samaritan's Purse affiliates to secure resources and foster collaboration.
• Represent Samaritan's Purse DRC in external meetings and communications.
• Supervise Program Managers and Program Development Officers, ensuring performance and well‑being.
• Identify and report critical physical, emotional, or spiritual concerns of staff.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 3‑4 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven ability to work in a developing‑world, cross‑cultural environment.
• Experience in staff management, program design, and implementation for NGOs.
• Strong management, communication, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
• Capacity to develop work plans, solve problems independently, and lead multi‑sector programs (e.g., food security, health, WASH).
• 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies.
• Fluency in English required; French strongly preferred.
