Superintendent - Geotechnical Design & Data Collection

About the role

The Geotechnical Superintendent – Design & Data Collection leads the safe and efficient delivery of geotechnical studies and designs that support KCC's open‑pit mining operations. Reporting to the Geotechnical and Hydrogeology Manager, the incumbent integrates geotechnical considerations into mine planning, slope design, depressurisation strategies and overall risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical design, field data collection, monitoring, analysis, interpretation and technical reporting.
• Identify, plan and coordinate geotechnical studies for operational needs and the Life‑of‑Mine (LoM) plan.
• Promote a strong health, safety and environment culture, ensuring SOPs, safe systems of work and contractor safety compliance.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols for drilling programmes and investigate incidents.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, costs and performance objectives, seeking cost‑saving opportunities.
• Administer contractor management, procurement and invoicing in line with company policies.
• Ensure geotechnical risks are identified, assessed, communicated and effectively managed.
