Team Lead Electronics – Quantum Instrumentation

About the role

QuTech’s Electronics team is looking for a Team Lead Electronics to drive the development of advanced measurement instrumentation for quantum research labs. You will lead a small team of specialists, combining hands‑on technical work with leadership to deliver high‑quality electronic solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and support custom and off‑the‑shelf instrumentation for quantum technology research.
• Advise researchers on measurement and instrumentation challenges and propose improvements.
• Translate research needs into electronics specifications, roadmaps and project proposals.
• Conduct independent research on electronics tailored to quantum experiments.
• Maintain a catalogue of existing electronics and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Coordinate team activities, manage project timelines and communicate with management and other engineering groups.
• Teach and update an electronics course for researchers and supervise internship students.

Required profile

• Broad background in both analog and digital electronics.
• Experience with low‑noise analog front‑ends, RF/microwave engineering, EMC, signal filtering, ADC/DAC, PCB and high‑frequency design.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and the ability to work closely with researchers.
• Leadership mindset with a hands‑on approach to technical problem solving.
