Coordinator Metallurgical Accounting

About the role

The Coordinator Metallurgical Accounting will lead the development and implementation of procedures that guarantee the integrity of metallurgical accounting and reporting. Reporting to the Superintendent of Metallurgical Technical Services, the role supports decision‑making, evaluates metallurgical performance and drives continuous improvement across the mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate laboratory investigations (special and routine tests) to deliver accurate results for operational decisions.
• Assist in both long‑term and short‑term production planning.
• Supervise and train Quality and Sampling teams.
• Develop and maintain metal balance calculations using AMIRA P754 and related modeling software.
• Ensure compliance with sampling principles, quality control, and metallurgical testing protocols for copper and cobalt.
• Analyze complex datasets, apply statistical methods, and report performance metrics.
• Maintain production data in systems such as PI System, SCADA or other process control platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mineral processing and copper/cobalt hydrometallurgy.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgical accounting processes.

Required skills

• Metal balance calculations (AMIRA P754 code) and mass‑balance modeling.
• Sampling principles and quality‑control techniques for copper and cobalt.
• Design and execution of metallurgical tests and experimental plans.
• Statistical analysis and bias evaluation of measurement data.
• Advanced Excel for data manipulation, analysis and reporting.
• Experience with PI System, SCADA or similar process‑control data storage systems.
