About the role
The Ebola Response Coordination Operations Specialist supports the ongoing Ebola outbreak response in Ituri Province, DRC. Working both from the International Headquarters and on the ground, the role provides technical leadership for two Ebola Treatment Centers, the IPC training programme, and data‑quality initiatives while ensuring alignment with Samaritans Purse, Ministry of Health and WHO protocols.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) operations, overseeing day‑to‑day activities of two Ebola Treatment Centers.
- Manage staff rotations and handovers, ensuring peer‑review and strict protocol adherence.
- Coordinate with the Incident Management Team, Ministry of Health, WHO and other partners to maintain effective response mechanisms.
- Support implementation of the USDOS grant award, including data collection, reporting and coordination with the Awards Management Team.
- Integrate patient data into the DHIS2 platform and ensure high‑quality data for reporting.
- Stay current on evidence‑based Ebola virus disease (EVD) management and update SOPs accordingly.
- Lead clinical case‑management workflows: admission, monitoring, treatment adjustments, discharge planning and safe burial coordination.
- Provide IPC training and continuous quality‑improvement support to field and national staff.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in humanitarian health emergencies, preferably Ebola or other viral haemorrhagic fever outbreaks.
- Ability to work in remote, high‑risk environments and travel frequently to field sites.
- Strong commitment to personal faith, maintaining an active relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Proven leadership and coordination skills with ministries, WHO and partner organisations.
Required skills
- Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) expertise.
- Clinical case‑management for Ebola or similar high‑risk diseases.
- Proficiency with the DHIS2 health information system.
- Grant management and data‑reporting capabilities.
- Coordination of multi‑agency response efforts.
