About the role
BURN is seeking an HR & Office Manager to support daily HR operations and ensure smooth office administration for its team in the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will act as the primary point of contact for employee onboarding, payroll coordination, policy communication, and facility management.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end onboarding, including contracts, policy induction and documentation.
- Prepare payroll inputs and coordinate with Finance/Payroll for employees and casual staff.
- Develop, localise and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies; train staff on updates.
- Maintain confidential personnel records, monitor contract expiries and ensure valid contracts at all times.
- Handle employee‑raised HR issues, support relations, disciplinary actions and performance appraisals.
- Coordinate employee exits, medical checks, travel logistics and office asset tracking.
- Oversee front‑office functions, visitor management, meeting‑room scheduling and office communications.
- Ensure office facilities are fit for purpose, liaise with IT and service providers for connectivity and equipment maintenance.
Required profile
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in HR, Management or a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
- At least three years of HR experience, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of DRC labour law and ability to advise management on legal updates.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel skills for data management.
- Familiarity with AI tools or applications.
