Superintendent - Geotechnical Design & Data Collection

About the role

The Geotechnical Superintendent – Design & Data Collection leads the delivery of geotechnical engineering studies and design activities that support KCC's open‑pit mining operations. Reporting to the Geotechnical and Hydrogeology Manager, the incumbent ensures that geotechnical risks are identified, assessed and managed safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a strong health, safety and environment culture, enforce SOPs and safe systems of work, and manage contractor safety.
• Develop, implement and enforce safety protocols for drilling programmes and investigate incidents.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, costs and performance objectives; identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee contractor management, procurement and invoicing in line with company policies.
• Train and develop geotechnical personnel, communicate with mine management and act as a role model and mentor.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate geotechnical studies and design activities for operational and Life‑of‑Mine requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering geotechnical engineering studies and design for open‑pit mining projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong budgeting and cost‑control skills with a focus on compliance and governance.
