Area Lead – Democratic Republic of Congo

About the role

The Area Lead will support Alistair Group’s offshore logistics and supply chain operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This senior‑level position focuses on improving operational efficiency, reducing commercial risk, and building local capacity across the country’s growing oil, gas, and mining sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Travel between operational sites in the DRC, covering key logistics, mining and oil & gas corridors.
• Support development and operational viability of strategic logistics, warehousing, terminal and inland infrastructure projects.
• Interface with government authorities, regulatory bodies, customers and stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve challenges and ensure compliance.
• Act as the representative and “face” of Alistair Group within the DRC market.
• Identify, develop and maximize commercial opportunities and strategic relationships for logistics, transport, energy, mining and infrastructure services.
• Advise on commercial and operational strategies to optimise supply chain, transport and remote site logistics.
• Enhance supply chain efficiency and operational performance to minimise financial, operational and compliance risks.
• Provide expertise on cost optimisation, procurement strategies, supplier management and commercial negotiations.
• Guide scalability and operational readiness of infrastructure and logistics solutions to meet current and future customer demand.
• Support localisation initiatives through transfer of skills, operational knowledge and capacity building.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain or transport operations within the DRC or similar emerging markets.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to engage government, regulators and key customers.
• Demonstrated ability to travel extensively across remote and challenging environments.
• Commercial acumen and experience in developing strategic partnerships.
