Events Assistant

About the role

The Health Sciences North Foundation is seeking an Events Assistant to support the planning and execution of its signature fundraising events. Reporting to the Manager of Community Engagement and Event Fundraising, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure each event runs smoothly and meets its revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing major events such as Enchanted Evening, Smile Cookie Week, Palladino Auto Group Golf Classic, and Luncheon of Hope.
• Research and maintain prospect databases for sponsors and donors.
• Support sponsor outreach, relationship building, and track sponsorship commitments.
• Recruit, coordinate, and supervise volunteers, maintaining detailed volunteer records.
• Develop and distribute marketing materials for event promotion.
• Solicit auction items and prizes to enhance fundraising.
• Provide exceptional customer service to attendees, sponsors, volunteers, and donors.
• Prepare thank‑you letters, cards, and reports for participants and sponsors.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in public relations, communications, marketing, event planning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
