Field Service Engineer – Power Motors & Generators

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to deliver installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of large-capacity power motors and generators at customer sites worldwide. The role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, operational excellence and high customer satisfaction across on‑shore and off‑shore locations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary on‑site technical contact, providing maintenance, repair, refurbishment, commissioning and troubleshooting services for motors and generators ranging from 1 MW to 50 MW.
• Perform pre‑commissioning, commissioning and performance verification activities, including electrical testing such as insulation resistance, polarization index and winding resistance.
• Diagnose faults, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective or preventive actions.
• Prepare material and tooling lists, ensure parts availability and coordinate with engineering, quality and sales teams.
• Document all site activities, complete safety updates, checklists and service reports, and support quality teams with failure analysis.
• Provide on‑site technical guidance, supervision and training to customers and junior staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field service of large power motors and generators, both on‑shore and off‑shore.
• Strong understanding of electrical testing methods and commissioning procedures.
• Ability to travel extensively (over 90 % of the time) domestically and internationally.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers at peer and senior management levels.
