Flotation Operator

About the role

Kamoto Copper Company is seeking a Flotation Operator to join its metallurgical team in Kolwezi, DRC. The role focuses on the efficient operation of concentrate production equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in a high‑volume copper and cobalt mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and load reagents, adjust machine parameters, and verify equipment condition for the flotation process.
• Monitor performance indicators, take and analyse samples, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Control product quality by conducting regular sampling and analysis.
• Maintain and clean equipment, lubricate moving parts, replace worn components, and keep work areas tidy.
• Complete production documentation, entering data and maintaining accurate records.
• Apply occupational health and safety rules, wearing PPE and following procedures.
• Collaborate with team members, share information, and coordinate activities.
• Participate in training, attend seminars, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Diagnose technical problems, analyse root causes, and implement solutions.

Required profile

• State diploma in industrial chemistry or metallurgy.
• At least one year of experience in a similar flotation or mineral processing role.
• Fluent in French with clear communication skills.
• Understanding of flotation technology and proper equipment use.
