Heavy Mobile Equipment Manager

About the role

The Heavy Mobile Equipment Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer and leads all maintenance activities for heavy mobile equipment (HME) as well as auxiliary mobile assets such as light vehicles, forklifts, and mobile cranes. The role is responsible for implementing maintenance strategies, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement across the mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety, health, and environmental compliance for all maintenance work.
• Develop and execute short‑term maintenance plans, planned shutdowns, and long‑term asset management programs.
• Implement improvement plans to optimise equipment availability, reliability and lifecycle cost.
• Oversee the use of CMMS and maintenance reporting tools to track performance and KPIs.
• Manage a multicultural maintenance team, providing coaching, performance reviews and resource planning.
• Collaborate with operations, finance and procurement to align maintenance activities with business objectives.

Required profile

• Degree in Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of senior‑level experience in mining equipment maintenance.
• Proven track record in managing heavy mobile equipment fleets and asset‑management systems.
• Strong analytical, commercial and financial acumen.
• Professional proficiency in French; English is highly advantageous.

• CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) expertise.
• Maintenance reporting tools.
• Knowledge of maintenance KPIs such as availability, reliability and MTBF.
