Mining Operations Planning Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Mining Operations Planning Manager to lead the development and execution of short‑, medium‑ and long‑term mine plans at our Kolwezi site. The role ensures efficient production scheduling, optimal resource utilization and alignment with strategic targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop daily, weekly, monthly and life‑of‑mine plans for ore and waste extraction.
• Coordinate production scheduling with geology, operations, maintenance and processing teams.
• Monitor plan vs. actual performance, identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize equipment utilization, haulage routes and pit design parameters.
• Integrate drilling, blasting, loading and hauling plans.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Prepare and present planning reports, KPIs and dashboards to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 8‑15 years of experience in mine planning and operations, preferably in large‑scale open‑pit copper or cobalt mining.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a good understanding of mining economics.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mine planning software such as Surpac, MineSched, Whittle and Datamine.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
