NGCA+ Specialist

About the role

The NGCA+ Specialist provides technical leadership and oversight for the implementation of the NGCA+ portfolio across assigned provinces in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the NGCA Manager, the role ensures high-quality, consistent delivery of integrated interventions that strengthen routine immunization, reduce zero-dose children, improve vaccine supply chains, enhance disease surveillance and boost community demand.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of NGCA+ interventions, aligning them with national EPI priorities, donor requirements and VillageReach strategies.
• Promote standardized tools, SOPs and best practices across provinces and support the development of performance improvement plans for low-performing areas.
• Identify programmatic risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to Provincial Technical Assistants and government counterparts.
• Conduct regular coaching, one-on-one meetings, field visits and supportive supervision sessions.
• Review technical reports, give feedback and contribute to performance evaluations and talent development.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in routine immunization programs and vaccine supply-chain management.
• Experience supervising technical staff and providing coaching in field settings.
• Strong knowledge of national EPI priorities, donor reporting requirements and public-health surveillance.
• Ability to develop and monitor performance improvement plans and risk mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with government counterparts and partners.
