Senior Outbreak Response Coordination Lead

About the role

PATH is seeking a Senior Outbreak Response Coordination Lead for its STRIDES project, based in Bunia, Ituri Province, DRC. The role provides senior‑level technical, operational and coordination leadership for outbreak response activities, with a focus on Ebola Virus Disease and other epidemic‑prone diseases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate STRIDES‑supported outbreak response activities across provincial and health‑zone authorities.
• Ensure alignment of project activities with Government of DRC priorities and the broader response architecture.
• Facilitate collaboration among technical response pillars, implementing partners, donors, and community‑facing teams.
• Serve as the primary field focal point for EVD response, overseeing technical soundness and operational feasibility.
• Maintain liaison with national agencies such as MOH, COUSP, INSP, INRB, DSE, PNHF, and local health structures.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in disease surveillance and Ebola outbreak response.
• Proven ability to work with government health authorities at national, provincial, and health‑zone levels in the DRC.
• Experience coordinating with partners such as Africa CDC, WHO, US government agencies, UN agencies, and NGOs.
• Strong judgment to operate in high‑pressure, rapidly evolving, and politically sensitive environments.
