Operational Technology (OT) Foreman – Mining

About the role

The Operational Technology (OT) Foreman will lead the underground OT department at Kibali Gold Mine, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality‑controlled operations. You will support site personnel, drive technology implementation, and maintain high standards of engineering practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the underground OT department, including planning and execution of maintenance activities.
• Develop and train a skilled national workforce of technicians and leading hands through structured competency programs.
• Monitor, appraise, and improve performance of OT personnel to meet Barrick standards.
• Implement new technology and control systems in line with manufacturer and Barrick requirements.
• Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and budgetary control for the OT department.
• Oversee planned maintenance schedules for control, instrumentation, and communication systems.
• Lead process‑improvement projects, data‑collection system commissioning, and remote‑control system integration.
• Prepare reports from data‑collection platforms (MET, Newtrax, Optimine, Sandvik Multi‑Lite) and streamline automatic reporting.
• Coordinate with other departments on equipment availability, spare‑parts ordering, and standby/on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Electrical, Auto‑Electrical, or Instrumentation.
• Proven experience in underground mining OT environments.
• Strong knowledge of control, instrumentation, and communication systems.
• Ability to lead, train, and develop a national workforce.
