Plant Manager

About the role

The Plant Manager will lead assembly and manufacturing operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, ensuring safe, reliable and cost‑effective production. The role establishes disciplined plant routines, builds local capability and drives quality, productivity and continuous improvement as volumes scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day plant operations across production, planning, maintenance, quality, stores and workforce deployment.
• Translate demand plans into achievable production schedules and meet output, quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Establish strong safety, environmental, housekeeping and statutory‑compliance practices.
• Drive standard work, lean manufacturing, waste reduction, line balancing and operating‑efficiency improvements.
• Ensure robust process quality, defect containment, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action closure.
• Coordinate material availability and production readiness with sourcing, supply chain and logistics teams.
• Own plant performance reviews, operational KPIs, risk escalation and corrective action.
• Build, coach and retain a capable local management and shop‑floor team.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production or a related discipline.
• Typically 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including plant or operations leadership.
• Automotive, two‑wheeler, industrial assembly or high‑volume manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong capability in production systems, quality, maintenance, safety and continuous improvement.
• Experience setting up, ramping or stabilising a manufacturing operation is advantageous.
• Hands‑on, structured and comfortable operating in a fast‑growth environment.
• Strategic perspective with a strong bias for execution, high integrity and ownership.
