Procurement Manager - Construction

About the role

A leading construction company, recruited through its client, is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager based in Kinshasa. The role oversees procurement for the finalization of civil packages, covering works such as structural works, facades, windows and doors, ready-mix concrete and batching plants, false ceilings, excavation, piling, foundations, painting and public road works.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and select vendors and negotiate rates to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Issue RFQs and tenders, run techno-commercial evaluations and negotiate favorable terms.
• Draft, review and finalize agreements with suppliers, employers, consulting agencies, main contractors and subcontractors.
• Prepare proposals for management approval and generate MIS reports on procurement activity.
• Ensure materials arrive at the site within the minimum lead time needed for timely project execution.
• Coordinate with the project team, design team and stakeholders to streamline procurement.
• Prepare procurement documents, including purchase orders for commodities, equipment, services and construction sub-contracts.
• Support pre- and post-contract procurement in line with project requirements and timelines.

Required profile

• At least five years of experience in construction, supply chain and procurement roles.
• Proven experience in pre- and post-contract procurement for engineering projects.
• Strong technical writing skills and excellent client-facing communication skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, assertive and well-disciplined, with a keen attention to detail.
