Procurement Senior Officer

About the role

The Procurement Senior Officer leads the design and delivery of strategic procurement services that align with international public procurement best practices and UNOPS regulations. The role ensures compliance, risk mitigation, and value for money across goods, services, and works contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that reflect UNOPS rules and international standards.
• Analyse and interpret procurement regulations, providing guidance on complex issues.
• Manage risk throughout the procurement cycle and ensure best value for money.
• Build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, including demand aggregation and market analysis.
• Prepare business cases, conduct supply‑market assessments, and support cost‑saving initiatives.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, ensuring high‑quality, client‑focused service delivery.

Required profile

• Fluency in English or French with an intermediate level in the other language.
• Extensive experience in international public procurement and familiarity with UNOPS procurement policies.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and drive strategic sourcing.
