Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager – Procurement (Mining Equipment)

About the role

This position is responsible for the timely procurement and supply of spare parts, consumables, and services required for mining operations. The role works closely with the HEMM department to ensure continuous equipment availability and efficient operation of a wide range of mining machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors for mining equipment spare parts, consumables and maintenance materials.
• Obtain quotations, perform technical and commercial comparisons, and prepare purchase recommendations.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and commercial terms; raise purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of critical spares.
• Coordinate closely with the HEMM department and maintenance team to understand spare‑part requirements and support maintenance planning.
• Manage logistics, track shipments, handle customs documentation and ensure timely receipt of parts on site.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels for critical, fast‑moving and insurance spares; work with stores for stock verification and reconciliation.
• Track warranty coverage, coordinate warranty claims with OEMs and suppliers, and ensure proper documentation until closure.
• Monitor spare‑part consumption, identify cost‑reduction opportunities and develop alternate vendors.
• Maintain procurement documentation (RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, delivery records) and generate periodic reports on procurement status and inventory levels.

Required profile

• Experience in timely procurement and supply of spare parts, consumables and services for mining operations.
• Ability to coordinate with the HEMM department and maintenance teams to forecast and fulfill spare‑part needs.
• Knowledge of inventory management, logistics coordination and warranty claim processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for procurement and inventory tracking.
