Senior Officer, Safety & Standards Alignment

About the role

The Senior Officer, Safety & Standards Alignment will coordinate and deliver underground technical refresher and best‑practice training to reinforce safe work practices, operational standards and workforce competence at Kamoa Copper Mine. The role supports continuous improvement, Zero Harm objectives and compliance with company, legislative and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver underground technical refresher and safety training programmes.
• Conduct workplace competency assessments, identify performance gaps and provide targeted coaching.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, legislative requirements and safety standards.
• Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and support Zero Harm goals.
• Perform workplace inspections, safety observations and incident investigations.

Required profile

• Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent.
• SAMTRAC certification or similar.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Minimum 5 years of underground mining experience, including exposure to safety standards and operational best practices.
• Experience in workplace coaching, technical training, mentoring or competency assessment within a mining environment.
• Proficiency in business English (mandatory); French and Swahili are highly advantageous.
