Senior Superintendent I – Underground Mining

About the role

The Senior Superintendent I will lead the underground mining operation at the Kipushi Project, ensuring safe and efficient ore extraction to meet production targets. This senior position oversees both internal and contractor teams, aligning daily activities with the company’s HSE and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate mining teams to achieve meter and tonnage targets.
• Oversee performance of Mine Overseers and contractor Mine Overseers.
• Implement and monitor production processes, plans, and governance structures.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and SHEQ standards.
• Support contractors in delivering on schedule and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyse mining plans and technical documentation to guide operational execution.

Required profile

• Mining degree.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• More than 12 years of relevant mining experience, including at least 5 years as a Shift Supervisor or Mine Overseer.
• Proven track record managing underground production and civil projects in an African mining environment.
