Superintendent II, Technical Training

About the role

The Superintendent II, Technical Training will lead two underground training centres at Kamoa Copper Mine. You will act as the mine overseer for these centres, ensuring high‑quality competence training, assessment and Learning from Incidents programmes for all underground staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the delivery of underground mining competence training and assessments.
• Oversee Learning from Incidents training for major impact events.
• Develop, schedule and monitor training programmes during the mine’s expansion phase.
• Ensure training curricula meet quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage safety and health of senior officers, officers and trainers under your supervision.

Required profile

• Certification in training and development or mining, including a Mine Overseer’s certificate of competence.
• Blasting certificate and Assessor & Moderator qualifications.
• Diploma or degree in Training & Development, Mining, or Safety Training (preferred).
• Minimum 6 years experience in an underground mining environment and at least 3 years in training and development within underground mining.
• Proficiency in business English; French and Swahili are highly advantageous.
