Superintendent - TSF Projects Infrastructure

About the role

The Superintendent for TSF Projects Infrastructure will lead the planning, coordination and execution of tailings storage facility (TSF) infrastructure works. Reporting to the TSF Construction Manager, the role ensures that all civil, mechanical and electrical works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage execution plans, construction schedules, work packages and resource requirements from project launch to hand‑over.
• Supervise the construction of access roads, embankments, drainage, water‑management systems, pipelines, settling structures, spillways and related civil, mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
• Coordinate with engineering teams and external consultants to review designs, verify constructability and ensure compliance with approved specifications.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance on safety, quality, cost and schedule, and organise daily/weekly construction activities.
• Track project expenditures against budgets, identify cost or schedule risks early and implement corrective actions.
• Enforce HSE requirements, verify risk assessments, permits and safe‑work procedures, and intervene when unacceptable risks arise.
• Lead QA/QC processes, oversee inspections and testing, manage non‑conformities and ensure work meets technical standards.
• Facilitate communication between engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, procurement and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proven experience supervising large‑scale mining infrastructure projects, preferably TSF related.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards applicable to construction.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control and schedule management.
