Training Officer – Jumbo Drill Rig

About the role

The Training Officer for the Jumbo Drill Rig will lead the delivery of underground drilling best‑practice, refresher and incident‑learning training for Kamoa Copper employees. The role focuses on improving drilling safety, production standards and maintenance efficiency through knowledge transfer and hands‑on coaching.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver drill‑rig operator training programmes in line with the operating plan.
• Conduct post‑training observations, risk‑management sessions and incident‑learning workshops.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives for scaling, supporting, drilling and maintenance standards.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for drilling, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure training aligns with transformation and HSEQ objectives.
• Monitor training costs and ensure budget compliance.

Required profile

• Licensed to operate underground drill rigs (e.g., 282, M2C, Simba, M20).
• Multi‑license holder for equipment such as Sandvik, Bell, Caterpillar.
• Minimum six years of underground drilling experience.
• At least three years of experience delivering training in a mining environment.
• Proficiency in business English; French or Swahili is a strong advantage.

• Epiroc/Sandvik equipment operation and maintenance.
• Underground drilling techniques.
