Transportation Traffic Engineer for DRC Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transportation/Traffic Engineer to support major building and mixed‑use projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role involves planning transport solutions, conducting traffic impact assessments and delivering mobility analyses that enable successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct transport planning studies, traffic impact assessments (TIAs) and mobility analyses for large‑scale developments.
• Plan, supervise and analyse traffic surveys, data collection and transportation demand studies.
• Develop traffic models and evaluate road network performance, intersections and access strategies.
• Provide recommendations for traffic management, parking, pedestrian circulation and public‑transport integration.
• Prepare technical reports, transportation strategies and engineering recommendations in line with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams, clients and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and international transportation engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transportation or Traffic Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in transport planning and traffic impact studies.
• At least 3 years of experience in traffic surveys, data collection and acquisition.
• Registration with the relevant professional engineering body in the DRC or an equivalent recognized registration.
• Fluency in English; French is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with traffic modelling and simulation software such as VISSIM, SIDRA, Synchro, AIMSUN or TransCAD.
• Strong analytical abilities for traffic modelling, transportation planning and network analysis.
• Experience preparing technical reports and engineering recommendations.
