Underground Fitter – Mining Maintenance

About the role

The Underground Fitter will join the maintenance team at Kibali Gold Mine, performing trade‑related maintenance and repairs on underground equipment and machinery. This position works entirely underground, supporting safe and reliable operation of mining assets.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair underground machines and equipment according to OEM specifications.
• Adjust, replace or rebuild defective parts, components or systems.
• Test repaired equipment to confirm proper performance.
• Perform routine service and inspections on a variety of underground (UG) machines.
• Document electrical bypasses, warranty data and failure reports.
• Support the Maintenance Foreman with feedback for equipment improvements.
• Maintain a tidy work area and ensure all tools are serviceable and safe.

Required profile

• Willingness to work underground and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
• Commitment to personal development and obtaining a Trade Level 4 certification.
• Ability to produce accurate time records, technical and failure reports.
• Proactive participation in continuous‑improvement initiatives.
