Associate Director - Financial Operations

About the role

The Associate Director – Financial Operations leads consolidated financial reporting and treasury activities across field, national and global finance teams. This senior position ensures accurate financial statements, cash management, and compliance with donor and regulatory standards while providing strategic insight for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate monthly financial reports, statutory annual reports, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage treasury functions: cash‑flow forecasting, liquidity management, bank relationships, signatory authority, and cash‑target limits.
• Coordinate with Shared Services on supplier payments, exchange‑rate updates, and unresolved items.
• Oversee accounting code setup, system access rights, licenses, and integration of financial systems (e.g., Sun System, Provision platform).
• Lead design and implementation of integrated finance controls and data‑visualisation tools.
• Collaborate with FP&A Lead on budgeting, grant‑level funding forecasts, and annual planning.
• Review and approve financial requests, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and internal policies.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in financial reporting, treasury management, and multi‑entity consolidation.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, donor compliance, and nonprofit financial standards (e.g., WVI FFM).
• Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Excellent coordination skills across field, national, and global finance functions.
