Business Development Manager

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead and coordinate its humanitarian and emergency response programmes in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Kinshasa, the role will provide strategic direction, advocacy and partnership development to ensure timely, effective assistance for children affected by crises.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic oversight for all programmatic aspects of Save the Children’s humanitarian response in DRC.
• Develop and manage advocacy, policy, proposal and budget processes, including the CAT‑2 emergency strategy.
• Collaborate with the Program Operations Director, Field Managers and Technical Advisors to allocate resources efficiently.
• Ensure high‑quality funding proposals and donor reporting that meet organisational standards and child‑protection policies.
• Represent Save the Children at high‑level donor meetings and coordinate cross‑sector collaboration among technical units.
• Line‑manage Field Managers and oversee implementation of the humanitarian response plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian programme management and business development.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to work across multiple technical units.
• Excellent communication and advocacy abilities, especially with donors and partners.
• Commitment to child protection, health and safety standards.
