Communication Officer (Multimedia) – 6-month contract

About the role

UNICEF is recruiting a Communication Officer (Multimedia) for a six‑month assignment in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The officer will support the Ebola response by creating and disseminating high‑quality multimedia content that informs communities, counters misinformation and promotes life‑saving behaviours.

Key responsibilities

• Produce photos, videos, graphics and short clips for internal and external audiences.
• Develop and adapt risk‑communication messages for diverse cultural contexts.
• Engage with local and international media, prepare press releases and organise briefings.
• Monitor rumours and community feedback, and adjust communication strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with health, logistics and protection teams to ensure consistent messaging.

Required profile

• Degree in communications, journalism, media studies or a related field.
• Proven experience in multimedia communication within humanitarian or health emergencies.
• Ability to work in insecure and rapidly changing environments.
• Strong cultural sensitivity and community‑engagement skills.
