Community Advisors for EBO-PEP trial

About the role

ALIMA is seeking several Community Advisors to support the multi‑center EBO‑PEP clinical trial evaluating post‑exposure prophylaxis for Ebola. Based in Bunia (Ituri, DRC), advisors will act as trusted links between trial participants, their families and the research team, helping to ensure the study is implemented safely and ethically.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate phone‑based follow‑up and communication between participants and the research team.
• Monitor community dynamics around trial sites and report observations on participant attitudes, practices and concerns.
• Collect, document and forward complaints, requests or specific needs of participants and their close contacts.
• Participate in regular coordination meetings with the Communication & Community Engagement work package.
• Promote accurate information about the trial and encourage community acceptance.

Required profile

• Ability to read, understand and communicate fluently in French and the local languages of the intervention area.
• Previous experience in community‑based activities or health outreach.
• Strong social awareness and knowledge of local cultural codes.
• Commitment to ALIMA’s principles and charter.
