Contracts Specialist – Temporary (6 months) – Bunia, DRC

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Contracts Specialist on a six‑month temporary appointment to support the Ebola emergency response in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Chief of Field Office and the Chief of Supply and Logistics, you will lead contracting and procurement activities for the field office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement contracting and sourcing strategies aligned with UNICEF rules.
• Manage tendering processes, negotiate and award contracts, and oversee contract administration.
• Establish and maintain Long‑Term Agreements and institutional contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure value for money.
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior contracting staff.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in procurement, supply chain, or contract management.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development settings, preferably in complex emergencies.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF procurement policies and international contracting standards.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing contexts, and maintain high integrity.
