Corporate General Manager – Government & Corporate Affairs

About the role

We are looking for a high‑caliber executive to serve as the primary strategic anchor for our operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Corporate General Manager will act as the company’s chief diplomat, safeguarding regulatory compliance, social licence, and reputation across a complex geopolitical landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the company to national and provincial ministries, regulatory agencies, and municipal bodies, securing permits and licences.
• Monitor and analyse legislative and fiscal changes affecting mining, environment and labour regulations.
• Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with traditional leaders, governors, civil‑society groups and local communities.
• Lead conflict‑resolution efforts for community grievances, labour disputes and land‑use issues.
• Develop strategic B2B alliances with private‑sector networks, trade missions and industry chambers.
• Coordinate with internal heads of HR, Operations, Project Management and Legal to align external communication with corporate objectives.
• Design and execute a localized public‑relations strategy, manage crisis communications and act as the principal spokesperson.
• Oversee high‑impact CSR programmes that deliver measurable value to host communities.

Required profile

• 12–16 years of progressive experience in corporate affairs, government relations, public policy or legal/compliance within mining, infrastructure or heavy‑industry sectors in Central Africa.
• At least 5 years in a senior executive or general‑manager role operating in the DRC (preferred).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
